AMC is a prestigious Math competition that requires students to have deep insight into Math fundamentals. We often find that people don’t fully realize its complexity. Not many schools offer programs to help students prepare for the competitions. Even if they do, the instructor seldom has the time to give detailed explanations about the lemmas and theories needed to just understand the question properly. Compounding the issue is the fact that much of the math knowledge required for AMC is only taught indirectly in typical school math curriculum. CLA seeks to help the students hoping to reach AIME and beyond by teaching the students the mathematical contents needed for AMC that can’t be covered adequately in typical school math curriculums.

MATHCOUNTS
Mathcounts is a premier Math competition for those from 6th to 8th grade. Doing well in this competition can let a student earn national exposure and a free vacation trip. It is not an easy competition as Mathcounts requires much practical knowledge in how to calculate something faster and easier. A student needs to practice various methods of calculations to make sure they get the answer faster and more reliably. CLA has a year-round program to help students practice and prepare for Mathcounts. In a small classroom setting, even the Team Competitions will be rehearsed and optimal strategies for division of work can be discussed. Help your students get a head start in math by joining CLA’s Mathcounts classes.
