Love, Money, and Malice: The Merchant of Venice
In this course we will do a close reading of The Merchant of Venice, by William Shakespeare. In doing so, we will not only develop students' skill with English that might be difficult or arcane, but we will also delve into the troubling nature of this supposed "comedy."
